Role Name: UK Bookkeeper/Accountant
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week); Monday to Friday 10am – 7PM ( 1 hour lunch)

Client Overview: A rapidly expanding London-based accounting franchise that’s scaling through strategic acquisitions of fee banks across the UK. They’re currently acquiring 300-350 new limited company clients and building dedicated teams to support this growth. The company operates with a modern, distributed workforce model and values professional development and expertise in UK taxation.
Job Description: You’ll join a forward-thinking accounting franchise during an exciting expansion phase, taking ownership of a dedicated client portfolio as they acquire new fee banks. You’ll work directly with UK limited company clients, handling their complete bookkeeping and accounting needs while being part of a professional team that spans multiple countries. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in UK taxation and compliance while working with modern accounting software and supporting a business that’s actively growing through strategic acquisitions.
Responsibilities:
- Handle complete bookkeeping operations for UK limited company clients (approximately 100-120 clients per bookkeeper)
- Process payroll for client businesses and ensure accurate record-keeping
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and compliance submissions
- Work with QuickBooks as the primary accounting software platform
- Navigate and utilize Xero for select client accounts
- Learn and implement new MTD (Making Tax Digital) compliance software and processes
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate records
- Support the onboarding of new clients as fee banks are acquired
- Collaborate with international team members across different time zones
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of UK taxation rules and regulations (essential)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software
- Experience with Xero accounting platform
- Previous bookkeeping/accounting experience with UK limited company clients
- Excellent English communication skills
- Experience with payroll processing and VAT submissions
- Ability to quickly learn new software and compliance processes
- Bonus if you have professional accounting qualifications (ACCA or equivalent)
- It helps if you have experience working with international or distributed teams
