Role Overview

The Enterprise Client Executive is not a passive account manager. It is a high-impact, revenue-owning position sitting at the intersection of renewals, expansion, and executive engagement.

You will oversee a portfolio of approximately 35 enterprise and strategic accounts, ensuring renewals are not only secured but strengthened. This role demands a sharp commercial mindset—someone who can protect existing revenue while uncovering new growth opportunities within the same accounts.

This is not customer success. It’s not transactional. It’s strategic, fast-paced, and deeply accountable.

Core Responsibilities

1. Renewal Ownership & Revenue Protection

Take full control of the renewal lifecycle—from early risk detection to final negotiation and close. This isn’t administrative work; it’s a commercial motion requiring precision and timing. Your goal is clear: defend ARR, eliminate churn, and ensure renewals happen predictably and on time.

2. Expansion Within Existing Accounts

Growth doesn’t stop at renewal. You will actively expand account value through upselling, cross-selling, and identifying new teams, regions, or workflows. The objective is simple but ambitious—turn modest accounts into major revenue drivers through structured, strategic expansion.

3. High-Velocity Account Management

Managing around 35 accounts requires balance—depth where needed, speed where possible. You’ll prioritize intelligently, focusing on renewal timelines, growth potential, and risk signals, all while maintaining consistent execution.

4. Executive-Level Multi-Threading

Strong accounts aren’t built on a single contact. You’ll develop relationships across multiple layers—from operational users to C-level executives—ensuring influence remains intact even when internal dynamics shift.

5. Commercial & Strategic Thinking

You’ll go beyond product knowledge, diving into customer business models, procurement cycles, and ROI drivers. Every renewal and expansion conversation should be framed in terms of measurable business value—not features.

6. AI & Value Communication

At Smartcat, AI is not a buzzword—it’s the backbone. You’ll confidently articulate how AI-driven workflows improve speed, efficiency, and outcomes, translating technical capabilities into real-world business advantages.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Working closely with Field Delivery Engineers, you’ll ensure technical alignment while independently owning customer outcomes. This role demands initiative, clarity, and decisive action.

8. Forecasting & Pipeline Ownership

Accurate forecasting is not optional—it’s expected. You’ll manage your pipeline with discipline, identify risks early, and maintain clean, reliable CRM data that supports predictable growth.

9. Character & Execution Standards

Success here requires more than skill. It requires mindset. You must be direct, accountable, and focused on results. This role rewards those who act with confidence, communicate clearly, and deliver consistently.

Experience & Requirements

  • 3–5+ years in Account Management, Renewal Management, or Enterprise-focused SaaS roles
  • Proven ownership of renewals and expansion within existing accounts
  • Experience managing high-value portfolios at pace
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills at the executive level
  • Comfortable engaging enterprise buyers and navigating complex sales environments
  • Willingness to travel and meet customers when needed
